A family before it is anything else

A white steeple against a deep blue sky

Our story since 2021

Candlewick began in 2021 with twenty people, a borrowed theater and a lot of folding chairs. We did not set out to build a big church. We set out to find out whether ordinary people could become a real family.

Today we are a few hundred people across two services and a dozen small groups. The shape has not changed. We sing loud, open the Bible, eat together, and keep a chair open for whoever walks in next.

We believe the church is not a show or a brand. It is a people. Our job is to be one.

What we hold to

  • Come as you are
  • Sing it loud
  • Tell the truth
  • Eat together
  • Serve gladly

What we believe

  • The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's word, our final authority for what we believe and how we live.

  • Jesus

We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man, that he died for our sins, rose bodily, and will return.

  • Grace

We believe we are saved by grace through faith, not by anything we do.

  • The Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, makes us more like Jesus, and equips the church.

  • The church

We believe the local church is God's plan for his people: worship, baptism, communion, community and mission.

  • Hope

We believe God is making all things new and that we get to live that hope now.

The people

Real pastors with real inboxes. Say hello.
